A350 & Club Suite

Nice aircraft – relatively quiet cruising over the Atlantic. Seat area has loads of storage but there seem to be lots of rules. For example, You can’t put water bottles (or anything else) in the pocket near your feet. Some nice touches – usb power sockets are in a compartment but they have left a gap so the wire doesn’t […]

Which gate?

Well… still waiting for our gate to be announced. My luggage air tags are a good indicator though. Looks like it’s a decent walk away! Of course, it might be wrong and my pants are off on a different vacation?!

Here we go again…

Vegas bound.. in a few hours. Currently tucked away in a corner of the lounge having breezed through checkin AND security in less than ten minutes. The journey to this point has been mildly irritating. Arrival at T3 Short Stay was made confusing by roadworks, poor signage and crap lighting. The T3 hotel transpired to be in T2. It took […]

Done.

Nashville Airport is okay – barely International though.. it appears to only have two gates which can handle wide body jets like the Boeing 787. Today, one of these gates is occupied by an aircraft that has gone technical (broken down) and the other by an Air Canada jet. So, again, we have to board at a remote stand, up […]

Homeward Bound

Checked out of DreamMore Resort and headed up to Sevierville. A small town a few miles North of Pigeon Forge (and actually where Dolly Parton was born/raised with her ten siblings!). We were here in search of a Quilting Shop – The Cherry Pit. Easily found and easy to park – seeing as most shops were shut. After a little […]

Repeat.

Didn’t fancy heading offsite for dinner, so just opted for the buffet again. They have swapped out some of the dishes. Salads to start. The Mac and cheese was good. The catfish was not – yuk. Prime Rib very good! However, the pinnacle was the dessert! French Chocolate Silk Pie again. Turns out, two slices is too many!

Lightning Rod

Slowish start – no point rushing as the park wasn’t opening until 10am. Lots of fireworks last night – I assume they are testing for the summer season which starts on Saturday. Pretty loud – must have been for us to hear them through the very effective double glazing. Anyway, we covered much of the park yesterday and today was […]

Dolly Wall

On heading to the elevator bank, we found a display of all of Dolly’s albums… yep, she has been a prolific artist. There is also a sort of time capsule on display. To be open in 2046 and contains what will be Dolly’s last song Our room is actually next door to the Dolly Suite

Song & Hearth: A Southern Eatery

Haven’t had a buffet dinner for ages… and this place is award winning and (for a theme park resort) inexpensive at $35. The dining room is, much like the rest of the building, quite subdued. Classy rather than glitzy which seems odd for Dolly! We both started with the salad bar and then tried the other dishes. I suspect that, […]
