Red Rock Canyon

Now we have a car… may as well use it. Decided to head out to the mountains for some fresh air. The scenic drive is very good. They have built a dedicated road through the area with parking points strategically placed around the circuit. The visitors centre is very informative too.

We set off on the 40 minute drive out. The cars built in satnav seemed pretty competent. Unfortunately, as soon as we’d arrived we knew we had a problem. You have to prebook a slot… ah, bugger.

Ended up driving back to a nearby town in order to get some mobile signal to allow us to book a slot!

We managed to do this and returned to the park..

First stop the visitor centre.

We then hit the scenic driveway proper.

Stunning views and probably a gravel monkey geologists dream!

There are worse ways to spend $20!

On completing the loop we head up to Blue Diamond… not much there! Just a residential area surround bt the mojave? before deciding to get some lunch at a local (off strip) casino. Red Rock Resort.
