Soggy
Had hoped to cruise the coast road today, but all the beaches are closed and people being told to keep away.
Wind isn’t too bad, but the on/off heavy showers are difficult to dodge.
The hotel has removed all of its awnings. Everywhere is dead… very few people around.
Valet Parking desk has disappeared. Whilst requesting car out is easy, I think dropping it back off may be more difficult.
Have found a cool looking Deli up the road. Plan on ordering a takeout from there later to have in the room. Whilst there are plenty of restaurants open, arriving drenched and sitting in wet clothes in an air conditioned room isn’t very comfortable!
I suspect room service will be maxed out tonight and having had to wait over 90 minutes for extra pillows to be delivered I don’t fancy our odds of dinner being delivered in a timely fashion.
Has to be said, this is the most superficially nice hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Room is small, but expected that. However, the cabinetry and furnishings are crap. Poor use of space, noisy. Balcony door won’t lock properly. Bathroom window leaks, Front desk staff dire. They make a big deal of their library, but seem incapable of keeping all their elevators working. Shouldn’t be an issue, but as the only way to get from our room to the lobby is to get an elevator up to the third floor, cross a bridge then get another elevator down to the lobby is a pain in the arse.
