Final night at Nissan.

Weather delayed, but it did go ahead. We caught the tail end of Josh Turner – one of those people whose voice doesn’t match them… Then a surprise act – Alabama. A country supergroup whose careers span seven decades! I’m not that familiar with them, but you could sense the love, awe and appreciation these 70+ year old guys received […]

Seek cover…

All outdoor stages shut and now being partially disassembled. People instructed to leave area and seek cover. The several hundred bars seem to be popular refuges! We ambled back to the hotel and put the weather channel on. Severe thunderstorm warning… 1.5 inch hail stones? That ****ing hurt. Especially when they are propelled by a 60mph wind. Just had a […]

In search of cool…

Left Riverfront Stage and went in search of shade and a cool drink. Found both at “Famous” They serve Jack Daniels slushies! Stayed here for a couple of hours. Live music, hot chicken, cold beer. Nashville encapsulated!

Brunch!

Finally got round to trying the Nashville pastime of Brunch… at 8am! https://www.417union.com Great brunch spot! Popular we back to the hotel – watched the weather channel which was alarming! Managed to get to Riverside stage – Close enough for the bass speakers to impact on our ability to breathe!!

Miami Nash

Hmmm… hot, no shade, a good reminder of why we aren’t fans of Miami.. Cocktails were pretty average. Beer was refreshing. Views so-so. Abandoned this “trendy” option and headed down to the hotels bar/restaurant “Ellingtons” Cooler, more relaxed, but not exactly million dollar views! Staff, drinks and fellow patrons were good. Impressive bourbon selections – pours ranging from $15 to […]

Broadway

Wow… busy… We dropped out Gibson purchases back at the hotel – the bag policy for the bars makes retail bags a problem. Headed down to the Riverside stage, which -again- reached capacity just before we got there! So, battled crowds and headed up onto the footbridge for a different view of Nashville downtown. Headed back to Broadway in search […]

Gibson Garage

Guitar heaven for many. Impressive store beneath their factory/offices. Must be literally millions of dollars of guitars on display. Sound booths to test your rendition of Stairway to Heaven… a live performance stage… a Slash Shrine…

Nissan Stadium – Night 2

Arrived a little later this evening. But didn’t matter as the show was already running behind schedule! By the end of the night, it was over an hour late running. Lainey Wilson had a surprise guest.. Reba! Albeit very briefly. Cody Johnson got the crowd rocking – though they needed little encouragement. Miranda lambert was the headline slot at 9pm […]
