Halloween Horror Nights

Whilst we do have a RIP tour booked, which provides guided, no-queuing access to all the houses booked fir this evening… it is a bit fast paced. So, we book an extra night to absorb the atmosphere, visit the scare zones, shows and general drink cocktails and watch people jump out of their skins. A few pics follow – it’s […]

Voodoo Doughnut

These are much better than Krispy Kreme…. In the elevator heading back to our room a woman commented how good they are. Yes, when you factor in the flights to get here, these $10000 donuts are still good! And when combined with the sort of Fanta which is probably illegal in Europe….

Cowfish

Booked a table at “Cowfish” in CityWalk using the universal app. Universal provide usable wifi for free across all parks and resorts. I guess this is a necessity if you want people to mobile order food etc and probably provides a means to monitor crowd levels too. CityWalk is Universals leisure and retail complex. A means to extract even more […]

Unmasking the Horror

Decided to do the tours back-to-front this time – doing the behind the scenes before the actual HHN RIP tour. Whilst this runs the risk of losing some of the shock/surprise element, we discovered last time that we missed some of the details and storyline. By doing the tour first, we get to watch out for some key features… at […]

Misty morning

Early start – in the lounge to grab a couple of coffees at 7am. The lounge offers a complimentary continental style breakfast with pastries, cereals, etc. plenty of peanut butter and jelly (jam). Their grape jam is very nice. Plus donuts and muffins. A couple of bagels and plenty of coffee, then a quick walk to, what was, the Blue […]

Royal Pacific Resort

Liked this hotel previously… but it hasn’t worked out as well this time. Despite paying for a Club Level Room with lounge access we have ended up on the 6th floor. Club lounge is on the 7th. Just nowhere near as convenient to pop in for a coffee etc. Room is fine – getting a bit tired and in need […]

Hertz

We express checked out of the room and headed down to the shuttle bus. The driver asked which airline we needed and I said I just needed to get to the rental car centre. He pointed across the road. Firstly, I was surprised the hotel was so close to the rental centre… I though it was an Amtrak station opposite […]

Early start…

Wide awake at 6:30am. One of life’s travel challenges is figuring out how to use the hotel room coffee machine. This one was a simple single cup filter which is ideal for brewing a loose approximation of coffee. Once you have added the powdered non-dairy creamer you get a cardboard cup of finest beige – the Conde Nasty 18th best […]
