That was a long travel day…

Flight was over three hours late departing…

Food options were chaotic. First time the new, post covid menus had operated and there are a few testing problems. The ratios of the different options are simply wrong so many people were disappointed. Aside from the the food and drinks were fine. Actually, the food was really good

Sweet potatoes salad starter
Rib of beef main
Chocolate pudding dessert

Unfortunately, due to the late departure and crew hour limitations they couldn’t operate a second meal service – don’t really understand why…?

My in flight entertainment had a broken audio connection so could hear anything. Didn’t feel like reading a film via subtitles so just stared at the map and dozed.

Arrived into Miami in the dark.

We were in the first 50 off the plane and made a quick dash to the train to the main terminal. It was already packed. Headed to the other side of the platform just as they announced the first train had a fault.

We ended up first onto the second train and our doors opened directly onto the only escalator down to immigration.

We’re we’re now in the first ten of about 250 people and we were swept along to the fastest immigration process ever. Through in 5 minutes.

Baggage took an hour to arrive… damn.

Shuttle bus took 20 minutes to arrive.

Got to hotel at midnight. Basic airport hotel for one night.

Room service stopped at midnight… grabbed drinks and ice from vending machine and went to bed. 22 hour day…
