Shopping…
Well mainly browsing due to practical and financial reasons! Can’t fit much in the cases and could easily go bankrupt in a USA Costco!
The view from our window… the Aria car park.. looks like a photo shoot. Possibly for an exotic car rental company – the had a GT60, Corvette, Lamborghini… or it could be for an exotic girl rental company… zoom in bottom left.. this isn’t a Cinch car advert!
Anyway, fetched the car and headed out towards Henderson.
The rental was a waste of money on some levels. Didn’t use it as much as planned. Next time I might just do two or three day rentals. Thankfully, our Genting loyalty card got free parking at Resorts World and the Suite package here at MGM included parking. Otherwise it would have cost $150+ just to park!
Anyway, we pottered about. Costco was busy… heaving.. but my God, do they sell some stuff over here! 86” TV – decent brand and spec $1099. Normally you have to remember to add the 20% vat in the uk. It’s less than half that in state tax here.
The bourbon choice and bottle sizes.. we need this in the UK!
We (more or less) stuck to our shopping list and left – albeit, without the mint M&Ms.
We visited a shopping complex near the airport (Tropicana East I think).
Walmart Superstore.
So much choice! No mint M&Ms, but tonnes of choice of everything else.
It’s the cakes, biscuits, pastries etc. they all look soooo good, but in all my years of visiting and sampling this stuff, I have never failed to be disappointed.
Food choice is wild over here, but often the quality lags way behind what we are used to in the UK.
Shopped out. Really doesn’t take much for us to get bored of it! We headed back to the strip.
Dumped the car in the self park and headed over to New York New York. Nine Fine Irishmen.
Let’s try their special… Guinness and Jamesons.
We only wanted sandwiches, but I had to try the sausage roll and jus thought the cheese dip was worth trying.
School boy error.
The starters were the size of mains…
The sandwiches were corned beef and chicken…
There must have been a 1lb of meat on this sandwich!
Properly spicy.. I had a healthy salad rather than fries
Covered with dressing and cheese!
We overate. Had an extra beer or two. No idea why I felt the urge to drink Guinness, but it wasn’t bad. It can travel.
Then back to Park MGM to have a gamble. Drinks waitresses were good, easy to get a free beer. We used the free play on a Buffalo slot – covered $100 free play into about $60 cash out.
We tried roulette, blackjack more slots. We peaked around $215 up. We spent a couple of hours losing that!
Then headed back to the room to chill, freshen up and the head over to Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood.
