Central Strip
Slow start today. Visited rewards desk to collect some free play and drinks vouchers. We also have $100 comp slip to use. So MGM is going get some of our custom this weekend!
We headed to the ParkMGM tram station, heading for the Bellagio. We will visit the Bellagio tomorrow too… once the unveil the Christmas decorations.
Bellagio Conservatory is being worked on
We explored the Paris and what was once Ballys – now The Horseshoe.
Aside from a lick of paint, new carpets and some new signage it does feel much different. We were expecting a more “Country” vibe to the place.
Grabbed a couple of sandwiches from the Deli – very underwhelming.
We then continued up the strip. Cromwells would be an interesting place to stay. However, it has Drais night/day clubs and is phenomenally loud. It’s the reason we won’t stay at the Cosmo.
Flamingo is still going strong as possibly the last original hotel on the strip. It even has Flamingos still!
Much busier on the strip today. The Linq was busy. Lots of sports fans in the bars.
We continued wandering up the strip to the Venetian. Eventually finding a casino bar with tables available to have a few drinks and people watch.
It was whilst walking from this bar to restaurant row for an early dinner we noticed this short swaggering individual… could it be… Bono?
Close. But this guy looks a bit more Eddie Jordan then Bono.
Built up quite a crowd though!
Tonight’s dinner was to be at the Grand Lux Cafe. A 24 hour establishment (part of the Cheesecake Factory chain, I think) with a huge menu.
The food was good. Usual bread for the table (a bit salty)
We had mini cheeseburgers and spicy chicken rolls for starters.
Followed by Thai Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo
We finished and paid in plenty of time to walk to the Sphere…
