Homeward Bound
Checked out of DreamMore Resort and headed up to Sevierville. A small town a few miles North of Pigeon Forge (and actually where Dolly Parton was born/raised with her ten siblings!).
We were here in search of a Quilting Shop – The Cherry Pit.
Easily found and easy to park – seeing as most shops were shut.
After a little retail therapy we located the nearest Publix grocery store to pick up a few requested items. Amused to see a dedicated British section.
After this, we headed back towards Nashville. We gain an hour (going from eastern to central time) and had hoped to find a decent lunch stop. In the end, it was just a McDonald’s… hey-ho.
Still ahead of schedule we stopped off at a lakeside park, but it was hot, little shade and way too busy. Ended up dropping car off early (having topped off its fuel) and had to wait for checkin desks to open.
Check in and security were a breeze and we found the American Airlines lounge to while away the hours before our flight.
