U2:UV @ the Sphere

Took a while to get into the place,… well, 18000+ people is a lot to channel in to a venue. When you think the Manchester Arena (UKs largest indoor venue) holds 21000 you realise how big the sphere is. Especially when you consider the seats are in one half…

The venue is bonkers. Nothing even similar anywhere else.

Then there is the actual show. Wow. Simply, wow! I’m not a U2 mega fan, but they did mostly the time frame I liked (ZooTV, Achtung Baby). They do know how to put on a show and with the sphere’s unreal screen and audio systems – well, wow!

The photos don’t do it justice. This is an epic venue. Glad we did it. Although the trip back to our hotel was a special hell… the taxi queue and getting out of the Venetian was carnage. Then the taxi could not get to our hotel due to the police closing roads in to it! We had to hop out and cross/Jay-walk the street!
