Hertz

We express checked out of the room and headed down to the shuttle bus. The driver asked which airline we needed and I said I just needed to get to the rental car centre. He pointed across the road.

Firstly, I was surprised the hotel was so close to the rental centre… I though it was an Amtrak station opposite (which it is as well)

Secondly, I was staggered to discover you can walk to it. Many such places are difficult to get to on foot!

We picked the car up around an hour early. I had already received an email from Hertz saying the vehicle spec had changed due to operational reasons, got a reduced rate and a future discount voucher.

To be honest, I’m glad. The Shelby we have is bonkers – louder than a steel mill falling off a cliff and monstrously quick. Not sure an extra 300bhp would have been useful in the rain on the way up to Orlando.
